Monitoring Features

Cortexo's LiveHMI service displays data dependant on the device its connected to; the folowing example describes the features and outputs associated with Whisper Tech's WhisperGenTM stirling engine.

Data monitored and logged

  • Full set of variables as provided by Whispergen engine software.
  • "Real time" Data updating on the screen (typically every 2 seconds).
  • Normal data logging ("Retention") interval 5 minutes or longer (selectable by engine).
  • Detail snapshot data logged around engine events at 1 second resolution (minimum 5 minutes before and 1 minute after engine event).
    Alerts are logged for all engine events.

User Interface

  • Web browser user interface that is compatible with a wide range of web browsers. Tested with MS Internet Explorer 7+, Mozilla Firefox 2+ and Apple Safari 3+. Browser only needs Cookies and JavaScript enabled.
  • Levels of users provided:
    • the manufacturer
      • Access to all engines
      • Access to system Admin functions such as user maintenance
    • Distributor
      • Access to the distributors engines only
    • End User
      • Access to the end users engine only
  • Key UI Areas
    • Portal (main) page. Shows most recent alerts, summary of engines operating and over performance chart(s). Available off main page:
      • Full list of alerts with ability to acknowledge (if permitted)
      • Charts page with larger chart of performance.
    • Engine list pages showing lists of engines in particular area
    • Engine level:
      • Details (Mimic) page showing current engine operating state.
      • Variables page. List of all current engine variables and their values (ability to set variables if allowed for certain types of user).
      • Extracts page.
      • Charts page.
    • Search.
      • Ability to search for engines based on a combination of Serial number, Location, and Distributor. Distributor can only search for their own engines.
    • Administration. Including:
      • User maintenance
      • Configuration
      • Communications
      • Scheduling
      • Archiving
      • System Status
    • Data access
      • Charts. Provided on initial portal main page. Available on the "Charts" tab for each engine.
      • Extracts. Extract an engines data to a spreadsheet in XLS format.
      • System level extracts provided:
        • Extract of all engine errors / snapshots that have occurred.
      • Extracts that are provided on each engines
      • Reports. PDF reports are available, both on demand and scheduled. The follow reports are included on the system:
        • System (the manufacturer / Cortexo access only):
          • Audit: User logins on a date
          • Audit: User engine variable changes on a date
          • Audit: Server configuration changes on a date
          • Comms: Communications history (for each engine connection)
