Program 07: BATTERY LEVELS

The Battery Levels Programme manages how and when energy storage systems are charged or discharged. It allows the Electricity Distribution Business (EDB) to send a signal to one or more battery systems at a specific location, asking them either to store energy or to release it back into the network.

This helps balance supply and demand, reduce strain during peak times, and make better use of renewable generation when it is available. By coordinating battery activity in this way, the network can operate more smoothly and efficiently.
